Spirulina contains large amounts of vitamins.
The blue-green spirulina microalga nourishes and tones, helps to fight deficiencies, and at the same time cleanses thanks to the high content of chlorophyll. Its ingredients are well absorbed. In addition to protein, spirulina is rich in beta-carotene, chlorophyll, GLA and other nutrients.
It is a rich source of easily absorbable protein, which accounts for about 70% of its mass. The protein contained in spirulina is digested in as much as 85%. It contains large amounts of: vitamins D, K and B vitamins. It is also a good source of: iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc. Thanks to the iodine content, spirulina can help in the treatment of thyroid diseases caused by its deficiency. It cleanses the liver and kidneys of toxins, improves blood quality, promotes the development of the proper intestinal flora and has the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeasts.
A strong blue colour is rarely found in food products. The blue pigment phycocyanin, a type of biliprotein, is responsible for this.
The content of GLA acid (unsaturated gamma-linolenic fatty acid) in spirulina means that it has a great influence on building the body’s immunity. Spirulina also contains vitamin B12, which is extremely rare in plant foods.
It is recommended primarily for physically active people, vegetarians and people over 60 years of age.
